Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are a diverse group of individuals, most of whom come from low-income immigrant families. Many of my students are bilingual; most of these students speak Spanish or Polish at home and English at school. They are energetic and committed learners, and they deserve to be instructed where they are, not where they should be or where their classmates are.
My 8th graders are reaching the end of their elementary education and are preparing to apply for and enter high school which is a competitive, demanding, and sometimes daunting experience.
Your funding will help them make strides toward a bright future, and they are grateful for the opportunities you contribute to our classroom.
My Project
I am tired of a messy classroom!
Please help me give my students the organization they deserve.
It's my goal to have a command center at each group of desks to store extra supplies, daily handouts and instructions, and work that needs to be turned in and passed back. Matching dividers for each student to put in their binders will help keep everyone organized; when the red tab is for writing for everyone, it's so much easier to teach executive functioning and for students to learn and retain those necessary life skills.
Some extra stools will help make collaboration easier and less chaotic, too. We are grateful for your support, and I'm excited to model systems and structures that promote learning and foster the kind of environment my students need at school.
