This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students work hard in class. They put their best foot forward and are inspired to do better. Their parents value education greatly but are often unable to support learning outside of the school day.
The students of today will be the leaders of tomorrow; future doctors, lawyers, entrepreneurs, engineers, and software designers.
As a teacher, it is my job to prepare these students for careers that are not in existence yet. By giving my students opportunities in the classroom to grow and succeed, I can see that I am shaping the future of our GREAT nation.
My Project
My students love to read. We have many books in our classroom library, and currently my kids are obsessed with reading and taking Accelerated Reader quizzes. However, the system we currently use (books in bins on shelves) isn't working for us. I received some donations of chapter books and content-specific books, and we have outgrown our current shelving system.
An organized library will make it possible for my students to search for books by genre and ability level to keep them interested in reading as well as help them improve their Lexile levels.
We would like a new bookshelf so that we can find our books easily and separate them into picture books and chapter books, fiction and non-fiction, as well as have special bins for poetry or class-made books. Thank you for your consideration in helping us get organized.
