Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My Transitional Kindergarteners (TK) students will utilize this bookshelf to access the materials required to meet their developmental needs through play-driven exploratory learning. Independence is essential in the development of a well rounded student. This bookshelf will be an organized way to access their daily materials independently. Students will be able to find their own activity materials like blocks, sensory bins, alphabet puzzles, and mathematic manipulatives with ease and independence. This will not only keep our materials organized, but will maintain expectations of self-regulation and will further their own learning.
A bookshelf may seem like a simple, nonessential item in a classroom, but the truth is that the right storage system can make all the difference in meeting the needs of students, by bringing their hands-on materials to them as part of an accessible, manageable, and kid-friendly organizational system.
