This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students need an LCD projector for daily lessons and to draw aircraft drawings in our classroom at Aviation High School.
The school that I teach in is a CTE school. Our school allows our graduates to receive an Airframe/Powerplant license. The students will have a dual curriculum consisting of academics and aviation mechanics.
The LCD projector will help my 9th grade students have the opportunity to see the lesson being presented interactively on a white board, with the help of my tablet PC. This will eliminate the need for an expensive smartboard and makes the classroom mobile. It will give the students the ability to be in an 21st century environment along with supervision and instruction.
My students will benefit from being able to interact more. They will be able to visualize the problem and participate for the solution more effectively. It will give the technological advantage to have this available to them in a public school setting.
Many students will benefit from the use of a projector. The students are learning aviation drafting and basic engineering. One of the first engineering project will be to draw and design a Clark Y airfoil. This design will be easier to demonstrate and draw on a larger size model, such as an example with the projector displaying the blueprint that would be 3 feet wide showing all lines and details.
Once the student will be able to draw the blueprint and understand it more clearly, a jig may and an actual wing rib will be built as a result of accurate blueprint design.
They will be able to master the skill of creating aircraft drawings more easily, and to start a school setting in the 21st century.
