Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students come from a background of poverty. They come to school everyday willing to work. My students have a love for reading and math. My school has 100% free and reduced lunch and we have little resources to help our students grow and succeed.
My students are creative thinkers and future leaders.
Coming from a background of poverty, I have to differentiate my instruction in order to close the achievement gap. In order to meet their individual needs, we need research based materials in order to cater to their needs.
My Project
The slime will be used as incentives for the class. The dry erase boards will be used for reading, math, and writing. Students will be able to use it to display their thinking and answers.
The books selected will help my students who struggle with reading due to language barriers and the pandemic.
These books will be used along with a reading log for daily reading.
Mask will be used for those who need them, the rolling cart will be used to organize students' work, the games will be used during centers for reading and math.
