This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I work in a low income, diverse school district in Port Chester, NY. I have 160 students this year, many of who are students with disabilities and English Language Learners. I teach a variety of courses including Global History, U.S. History, and AP Government.
While the focus of my classes is history, many of my students have linguistic development needs.
My goal for this project includes regular tracking of linguistic data, as well as content milestones, to help target my students' needs improve their abilities and self-confidence!
My students are all amazing hard workers who make the most of their experience here! I want to be able to facilitate even father success for them!
More than three‑quarters of students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
