This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
While learning sight words, counting, and other necessary skills, my kindergarten students need more resources to support these goals.
My students come into school every day eager to learn something new.
We are one of five kindergarten classrooms in a Title I school with close to 600 students. I currently have 18 students. The majority of my students are English Language Learners who need additional materials to support learning new vocabulary and skills simultaneously.
My Project
The iPad mini will support the students' goals of reading more than 70 sight words and counting fluently to 100 by the end of the school year. The intermediate goals of knowing letters, letter sounds, counting to 50, and reading common three-letter words such as "The cat and dog sat in the car" will be supported using installed apps like Raz-Kids and various sight word and math apps.
Your donation gives my students another opportunity to learn from digital resources as an alternative mode of learning.
