Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students need an iPad to connect with their lessons and make learning fun. We will primarily use the iPad in math and science to reinforce concepts that are being taught in class. The possibilities are endless.

My students are fun and energetic six and seven-year-olds.

They get excited when the opportunity to do or use something new comes along. My students attend school in California and they are considered to be economically challenged and receive free lunch.

My Project

I am requesting an iPad for my classroom. With this technology, my students will use applications to better understand all of the concepts we are learning in school. They will use it to log onto XtraMath and Everyday Math Online through the Internet. There are many math apps that I can download for free to reinforce math concepts that have been taught in class. In science we can take virtual field trips with the use of the iPad. It will also help me administer one-on-one tests such as the Lexia Quick Reading Test (QRT) to students quickly as it is easy to carry and move around the classroom with it. I will also be able to hook it up to our LCD player to use it on the big screen while teaching lessons in math, science, social studies, reading and writing. My students love technology so much that they will be having fun the entire time they are learning in my class if we get the iPad. I know that this iPad will impact my students and make them excited to learn.

My students need this technology to stay excited about education.

If they stay excited about education, they will be more likely to graduate and possibly attend college, thus breaking the chains of poverty. Your help could make a huge difference in their lives. Thank you so much for your support.
