This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
We were recently featured in the New York Times for having 44 percent of our students in housing crisis.
Our school has about 44 percent of students homeless at some point.
Our school is a 100% free lunch & Title I school serving new immigrants in the Bronx (NYC), New York. Our kids are amazingly motivated to achieve the American dream. Most of the parents did not finish high school.
My students are future minority engineers! Make their dreams come true. They are hard working and super motivated. Robots would really help the process.
Please help them in their quest to become future engineers.
My Project
These mice will help the students to code faster and build projects faster. They will also avoid the frustration of using the pad on the laptops.
Last year we didn't have them and lost tons of time building our AP and regular computer science tasks and projects.
The work is intense and any time we can save in a 48 minute period will really help the kids and the teacher. We could easily save 5 minutes per class per student. That's an additional 25 minutes of on task time per student per week.
Since my kids often have no experience with computers when they arrive in my classroom this could help them along in their progress.
