I am requesting whiteboards, whiteboard erasers, and whiteboard markers so that my students can have a more environmentally friendly way to communicate their answers with me. As a teacher of Earth Science, I am trying to show my students ways to reduce the amount of paper waste we have in our classroom. I am also requesting this because I am trying to limit the time students spend on their computers during class. We live in a world where most students are addicted to their technology. They have constant access to their phones at home and their computers at school. Using the whiteboards will provide an opportunity for students to put their technology to the side.
My goal is for students to use the whiteboards instead of paper to work through content-based math problems, as well as communicate their answers with me.
In doing this, my classroom will be learning about reducing paper and keeping our planet as healthy as possible.
My students are special because I teach in an older school with very limited resources. Whiteboards will provide a fun way for my students to communicate answers.
