This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
What is the environment?
I am currently a fifth grade mathematics/science teacher in a high-need community in New Jersey.
I am given a mathematics curriculum, but no science curriculum. In order to teach science, I am often challenged to find things for the students to work in science. Unfortunately, most times it ends up being a science worksheet that does not allow the students to create and or investigate anything.
The resource that I am asking for is an environmental lab kit for my students. This kit includes 6 different hands-on activities that will help my students learn more about the environment. My students will be able to test not only water but air too.
By funding this project my students will get an opportunity of a lifetime. You will help make it possible for them be true scientists. They will not be stuck in their seats filling out worksheets---they will be experimenting and getting a first hand experience in writing science lab report. I know for sure they will have a blast.
