An Engaging Room For Exceptional Students. A Whole School Project.

Help me give my students an opportunity to express themselves in their own way and work through difficult emotions through using hands on sensory materials.

My Students

My students come to school everyday eager to learn! My students are full of life and love to learn by discovery. These students are hands-on and participate in any and all activities I can provide. Being an Early Childhood teacher is so very special! It is just magical to see the students' faces light up each and every time they learn something new! Funding of this proposal will really make my students' smiles shine and their minds engage with wonderful learning activities! It is my job is to figure out how each child learns best.

I honestly believe that anything is possible in our school and that everyone can learn.

My Project

I am always seeking new ways to engage our students in a therapeutic multisensory learning environment to meet all of our students' needs. Our sensory room will be a therapeutic space with a variety of equipment that provides students with personalized sensory input. This helps children calm and refocus themselves so that they can be better prepared for learning and interacting with others.

A sensory room is a specially designed room, which combines a range of stimuli to help individuals develop and engage their senses.

These can include lights, colors, sounds, sensory soft play objects- all within a safe environment that allows the student using it to explore and interact without risk. It will be available for all students at our school. It will teach students how to regulate their emotions, develop and nurture motor skills, and encourage greater attention so they are better prepared for the academic school day.

By donating to this cause, you are giving our children tools to strengthen their self-modulation skills to better succeed in the classroom and to be their best, mindful selves with their classmates and staff in the school.
