This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first-grade students are thoughtful, curious, and risk-takers. They are mini-adults that speak their minds and have hearts of gold. They are the sun and the moon to our parents, and as such, I feel privileged to know them. They know that learning opens doors to opportunities in the future. With this in mind, they are learning to advocate for themselves and explore their passions to prepare themselves for tomorrow. They know who they are and know that they can rise to meet and exceed anyone's expectations! I am grateful to have them in my class.
My Project
What better way to learn than through experience and application! First-grade students will get to explore learning in a fun and innovative way. They will get a chance to build on their knowledge they've acquired through class lessons and gain a deeper understanding. What will solidify their learning even more is the fact that they will be sharing this experience with their peers, engaging in conversations and clarifying any lingering misconceptions in a safe space. The memory of this field trip will help them build their background knowledge for future lessons to come. Your generosity is greatly appreciated! Thank you!
