My Project
In kindergarten, we are always practicing what we learn and doing it in the most creative and interesting ways I can provide.
I want to bring high interest level activities to my classroom for compassion and empathy, this is the glue that holds our classroom community together!
We will begin the year with lessons on compassion and empathy found in teachers pay teachers, the gift card allows me to purchase all the activities I need for my grade level. My students will learn to see the world through the eyes of another person by using google slide decks and printable activities for kindergarteners specifically. We will have class discussions and create art project individually as well as group projects to display in our room as decorations and reminders of our compassion. Students will learn to work toward alleviating suffering in others through specific lessons from TPT that we will complete with literature and writing/art projects to show what we have learned and goals to make a difference. My students will do a group project based on empathy that we will display in our kindergarten area for all to celebrate.
I will measure success in my students’ understanding of compassion through continued discussion, role playing, printable writing prompts from TPT that show their learning and growth.
