This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I teach at a wonderful urban school with fantastic students. Our school provides an exciting single-gender STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) program. We are located in a culturally diverse neighborhood in the heart of the city. Students are encouraged to cultivate a growth mindset by taking academic risks and learn from their mistakes in a safe environment. Students learn how to self-advocate for themselves and support each other.
Our school provides a wide array of opportunities for students to explore their interests through project-based learning, museum art school partnership, CTE Engineering School, Robotics and Coding classes, Community College Courses, Music Program, Art club, Bookworm Buddies Club, French club, Gender Sexuality Club, and Game Club.
My Project
An easel will make a difference in my students' learning because, with an easel for the classroom, any part of the school, library, field, or classroom can become an easily accessible teaching space.
Easels are essentially live learning and teaching stations which allow teachers to help children to better engage in the topic at hand (or subject material) and thus motivating them to take the next step in their learning.
Teaching with an easel in the classroom will help make the teachers' planning and teaching easier. Easels help keep students engaged and involved while learning.
