My music room is an exciting place where children learn about themselves as musicians through creating, performing and responding to music. Ensuring that my classroom is well organized and set up in a way that fosters learning is critically important toward ensuring that my students are successful.
My students love the time they spend becoming musicians.
While in my class they have the chance to sing, play games, play instruments, compose music and listen to music from all around the world. My school has a very diverse and international population of students whose love of learning is contagious and whose love is a true outpouring of who they are as individuals and who we would like to be as a community.
My Project
I am requesting an easel for use during regular instruction most especially for use with kindergarten and first grade and also as part of our work in music centers. I've had great success while using an easel at a previous school and understand it's value as a way to invite my students to have a closer look at what we are learning. It is simply easier to invite the students to gather around an easel than it is to ask them to view the board from a distance. Teaching six grade levels and a choir means that any given time I can have materials for seven different classes at hand. An easel will provide an additional teaching and learning space for my students.
This easel will make a difference for my students by providing them a place to write that they can reach easily.
The easel can be moved around the room to accommodate for various class set ups and will be used during centers, whole group lessons and even when we play instruments. The easel will simply make the music class run more smoothly.
