My Students
Many of my students are English language learners from economically disadvantaged families, but they have the most beautiful smiles and the best attitude towards learning. One student recently mentioned that an A- wasn’t good enough because it could turn into a B too easily. Some are scared to dream of happiness, stability, and prosperity, but I hope to excite them and show them how accessibility to technology can be a tremendous equalizer in education, communication, and creation of a better tomorrow for all.
My Project
My students come from varied backgrounds, and many of them have academic and emotional challenges to overcome. By providing them with headphones for certain lessons, learning can be reinforced by the ability to watch and re-watch demonstration videos while being able to block out the typical classroom hustle and bustle. Being able to review a modeled lesson video is essential for ESL students as well. The projector mount is just icing on the cake for a perfect classroom. Currently, the projector is sitting on a cart at eye level with the students, and many of them complain, rightly so, about the blinding light.
Please help me provide my students with the focused attention to technology they will need to succeed, not only in middle school, but into adulthood and the job force.
