Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students love coming to school and are always eager to learn. The students in my school come from diverse backgrounds and have a variety of needs. They are enthusiastic, caring, and full of life. My students thoroughly enjoy reading, especially series books!
I work in a Title I school in Brooklyn, New York, which means my students come from low-income homes.
All of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. Even though they face challenges, they are always striving to do their best.
My Project
The 2020-2021 school year has been one like no other! Each week has been full of surprises. My students are constantly switching between remote learning and in-school learning. These continual changes make it challenging to stay connected with my students, especially when they are learning from home. It is extremely important to have reliable technology that can be used in school and at home to teach the students.
Most of the students in my class are English language learners.
Having the iPad as a teaching tool will help me create interactive lessons that will benefit my student whether they are learning at home or in school.
I am requesting the iPad so that my students can love learning and be connected to each other no matter where they are. Through this device, my students will be able to clearly see and hear each other during lessons, participate in meaningful instruction virtually, and feel a sense of community even from home.
