Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My second graders are an amazing group of students that are smart, energetic, curious, and love learning. They are a diverse group that are English Language learners, special needs students, and those from low socioeconomic backgrounds.

When our Title I school closed due to the pandemic, we never knew it would be permanent and our lives would be turned upside down!

We have had to adapt to distance learning in a matter of weeks. They are learning at home and many have very little support. We stay connected through our daily Zoom meetings. Our Zoom meetings are a way for them to continue learning and for me to know they're safe. These students need me to guide and support them through our new normal. Truth be told, I need them just as much!

My Project

My incredible students have been working so hard using the assignments that I have given them with SeeSaw, Epic, and YouTube However, my learners would benefit greatly from me having a laptop with sound and video capabilities to record video messages, reading passages, and lessons for them.

This project will provide a laptop so that I can use these amazing tools to assist my students with their remote learning experiences.

When we return to school, my students will benefit immensely by having a laptop in our classroom that is dedicated for audiobooks, read-aloud assistance, and capability for updated resource sites.
