Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are 16 wonderful bilingual Prek scholars. Most of my students are economically disadvantaged. 100% of my students receive free breakfast and lunch. My students are appreciative and eager to learn new ideas, and believe me, when I say they are the best, I mean that they are fighters who work so hard to reach their dreams.
This year is still going to be different, and it will be different in every aspect of our lives.
We must adapt to it. This year, at least for the first months, we are going to offer online learning with different tools and different strategies. To work with that in mind, I need new tools that let me provide my students with the best learning experience.
During the first months, I am planning to develop a web where my students can learn, play and have fun in a protective environment. Once this pandemic is over, I will use that same website to enhance their learning after school. I think this year is going to be challenging for everyone, as was the last one, but I am also excited because during the difficult times is when we show the best of us.
My Project
During this summer, I have been studying and learning about website designing and photo editing to launch my own blog for my students this school year. On this website, my students will be able to find activities, games, etc. And all in a safe environment. But this project is not cheap. Cameras, microphones, lights are quite expensive tools. Now, I need an iPad and an Apple pencil.
This iPad will allow me to draw and design much more sophisticated and attractive activities for my students.
I am sure that this work will be worth every single dollar.
