My Students
This upcoming school year, I will be teaching a diverse population of Kindergarteners, many of which are English Language Learners. I am very excited to meet each and every one of my students. Despite present circumstances, I am confident that we will have a year filled with unlimited learning experiences and fun!
My Project
One of my favorite aspects of integrating technology into instruction is the availability of resources to support students with different learning needs. This year, I will be teaching a large group of English Language Learners, who will benefit greatly from the use of an iPad, during both small group instruction and independent learning. Developing strong vocabulary is an important area of focus for ELLs, who are building their reading comprehension.
The iPads requested will make it possible for students to use learning applications like "Gus on the Go" to lead them through interactive vocabulary lessons and games, which also serve as a helpful motivator.
Both visual and auditory supports, provided through learning applications, are beneficial for ELLs because they help to reduce their anxiety, increase their comprehension, and even help them with decoding!
