My students need 3 iPads, cd and cassette player, and headphones to increase their reading and math skills while increasing engagement and success in the classroom.
We have taken Kid Presidents challenge to have an awesome year and dance to celebrate the awesome things we will accomplish this year. Integrating the iPads, cd and cassette player, and headphones in the classroom will give us many opportunities to do awesome things and dance!
My students are first graders who are eager to learn and love school.
They love technology and love any opportunity they get to use technology in the classroom. My students live in a low economic area and are on the brink of being a Title 1 school. Many of my students do not have access to technology outside of the classroom. Using iPads in the classroom is a great way to integrate technology into the curriculum and motivate and engage my students. The classroom is the only place my students get the opportunity to use technology like iPads.
My Project
Integrating the iPad 3 into the classroom will give my students an opportunity to increase their technology skills while also increasing their reading and math skills. They will be able to use story telling, writing, and reading apps to increase their reading skills. The more opportunities they have to write, the more successful readers they are going to be. Reading and writing work together to increase literacy skills. The students will also be able to increase their math skills using different math apps.
The cd and cassette player will also increase their reading skills. They will be able to listen to and follow along to stories. This will be a positive activity because some of my students do not get stories read to them at home. The more practice and exposure to reading and math my students have, the more successful they will be. Technology is another tool I can use in my class to help them be successful.
I know my students will be more successful at reading and math with the integration of iPads and a cd and cassette player in my classroom.
It will also prepare them for future experiences in school and life and prepare them to be productive citizens in society.
