An Apple for a Teacher

Help me give my students an optimal virtual learning experience by providing a MacBook Air to allow me to powerfully interact with them on Microsoft Teams, our district's virtual platform.

My Students

My first grade class is a diverse group of growth-minded urban scholars. Located in a high poverty area, we have a committed community of support. New technology will enable me to increase the level of commitment on my part.

Having ended kindergarten rather abruptly, my first graders deserve a full virtual commitment from me, their teacher, through updated equipment with full capabilities to address the unanticipated learning loss.

Our district was able to provide students with new devices and some with hotspots for Internet access. However, teachers did not receive new devices. I am currently using four devices in my virtual classroom, but my students are not receiving optimal benefits from these devices. Three are school devices. The fourth is my cell phone which has limited accessibility. Our onsite technology person informed me that my devices are too old to meet some of the requirements.

My students deserve an optimal virtual learning experience, and this can be accomplished through purchasing a MacBook Air. PLEASE help me to enhance their virtual learning experience by funding a MacBook Air with optimal operation to bridge the virtual learning divide.

My Project

Virtual learning is the new normal as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. In order for me to provide optimal learning opportunities for my students, I need a device that meets and exceeds the virtual platform. It is beyond frustrating to prepare lessons that cannot be fully executed due to limitations of the available technology devices.

Apple products have withstood the test of time and deliver optimal service.

As we continue to navigate this new normal, my students' learning experiences will be greatly enhanced through the use of a MacBook Air. Team work makes the dream work. Support the dream.
