Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Just imagine being able to learn basic skills with the touch of a finger! The single most valuable way an iPad impacts learning is that it is engaging.
I am an elementary school kindergarten teacher in a high needs school in New York.
This year is my 2nd year as an educator at my school. I teach approximately 15 kindergarten students in a general education classroom. My students come from an area that was highly impacted by hurricane Sandy. Most of my students were without heat, water, power and food for almost a week. Some are still without heat. My classroom is in desperately need of technology for a successful school year.
My Project
I am requesting an iPad to help reinforce reading, writing, and math skills. The iPad applications will help with letter and sound recognition, counting skills, addition, subtraction, letter/number writing, and much more. The iPad will also help my students learn how to use technology. An iPad will provide a much richer learning environment and aid many students for years to come.
No school year is as important as Kindergarten!
This is the year that will shape a child's attitude about school and about learning. Making it the most positive and nurturing experience is a way to insure that these children will continue to love learning and strive to do their best in school.
