This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
We aim to integrate iPads into our classroom to provide specialized tools and applications designed to support students with dyslexia. These devices will enable our students to access a variety of educational resources, including text-to-speech programs, audiobooks, and interactive learning apps. Why iPads?
This iPad will offer built-in accessibility features like VoiceOver and Speak Selection, which can read text aloud and make reading materials more accessible to my students.
There are numerous apps designed to support dyslexic learners, such as reading comprehension tools, phonics games, and spelling aids. In addition, iPads allow for customization of learning experiences to meet each student's individual needs, helping them to engage with the material in a way that works best for them.
With iPads in the classroom, our dyslexic students will have access to a range of tools that will support their reading and writing skills. We expect to see improved reading fluency, greater engagement with educational content and enhanced self-confidence in their academic abilities.
This iPad will be used daily by my students for activities such as reading digital books with text-to-speech support, completing interactive language games, and utilizing educational apps that reinforce phonics and comprehension skills. They will also be used for personalized instruction and practice, allowing students to work at their own pace.
