Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
I have a classroom filled with little kids eager to learn but do not always have the resources to help them reach their full potential. I teach students with special needs and this means that I must always be flexible with finding different ways of teaching. This could mean I need to use technology, playing equipment, manipulatives, and even things such as different writing utensils (ex. markers, pencils, pens, and even chalk).
The success of my children is my biggest inspiration!
I hope for them to have as many experiences as they can because some may never be able to experience things outside of school.
My Project
This project will help create lessons and homework assignments using apps my special education students are familiar with. I am using a digital learning platform called Seesaw to give my students work digitally during our remote learning. Seesaw enables me to create lessons and activities that are interactive for students. They are able to use an iPad to take pictures of their work, record video, draw, write, etc. It also allows families to connect so that they can see and comment on the work their child is doing.
Having technology that can keep up with Distance Learning is extremely important.
By adding a stylus pen, we can take student learning to the next level by making it easier for students to complete more detailed and neater products to showcase his/her learning.
As we move into the year this iPad would be one more resource to improve my digital teaching when we are not in the classroom and it will service as an extra device that can be shared and used by students when we are back in the classroom physically.
