An Apple a Day So the Kids Can Play

My students need two iPads to add to their digital toolboxes.

My Students

Our school's mission is to equip every scholar with the academic skills and habits of character to ensure college and career readiness. This is a great challenge when many of our students come from backgrounds in which many of their basic needs are not met.

Despite the many challenges the students face outside of school, they walk in my classroom with smiles on their faces eager to learn.

My goal is to help close the gap and even the playing field so that they can become the successful scholars they are capable of in spite of their circumstances.

My Project

I am requesting 2 Apple Ipads and 2 protective cases to add to the digital toolbox in our classroom. Our classroom currently has chromebooks. We are building our classroom to be more personalized to better meet the needs of our students. The addition of the Ipads will greatly help with that goal.

For example, students can use green screen technology with an Ipad to create a video presentation with pictures to show understanding of a concept learned.

Or they could take pictures and create a movie or a puppet show to retell a story. This gives scholars an opportunity to create and show their learning in a different way outside of the traditional paper and pencil. The students will also be able to use educational apps to practice skills they need help with.
