The iPads will serve as powerful learning tools tailored to my students’ specific needs. Many of my students are nonverbal or have limited speech, making traditional communication methods challenging. With Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) apps like Proloquo2Go and TouchChat, they will have a voice, allowing them to express their thoughts, needs, and emotions more effectively. This will not only improve their ability to communicate with teachers and peers but also boost their confidence and independence. Beyond communication, iPads offer interactive learning experiences that cater to diverse learning styles. Many of my students are visual learners who benefit from step-by-step instructions, visual schedules, and interactive lessons. Educational apps will reinforce core academic skills in reading, math, and social-emotional learning in a way that is engaging and accessible. Additionally, calming apps and sensory-friendly games will help students regulate their emotions, reducing anxiety and promoting a positive learning environment.
