Help me give my students a new Mac mini computer for our SMART board.

My Students
I teach first grade in an inner city school. The majority of the students live in the community, with families of African American and Afro Caribbean decent, and with Arab families moving in. Some students live in private homes while others live in the projects. I have been here for the last 20 years. In that time, our school had its ups and downs. We went from being known for our gifted and talented programs and drew students from all over the borough, to being a school that was a "in need of improvement".
In the last few years, we have been making steady gains and improving test scores and years worth of growth progress.
Many students come in reading below benchmark at the beginning of the school year. By the end of the year, the majority of the students are approaching, at or above grade level reading. I am a strong believer that guided reading is the key to helping students grow as readers. We read independently daily to practice skills and/or fluency. Additionally we have a biweekly "D.E.A.R" time school wide where students get to select books of interest to them.
My Project
This will be my second year in my classroom. Last year I struggled with my SMART board because it was unreliable. It meant that planned interactive lessons had to be set aside in the moment. This led to less interesting lessons that caused student interest to wane. By the end of the year, the Mac mini stopped working all together. As a result I had to use my personal computer to display lessons.
I am requesting a Mac mini computer to run our classroom SMART board.
This new device will not only be more reliable, it will enable me to use SMART software where I wasn't able to before. The boys and girls love coming up and being part of the instruction where they can manipulate the board to help model skills and strategies being taught. Having this computer will open up a world of technology that will enable students to interact with center activities during small group instruction.
