This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
What I love about my learners is how resilient they are. They are new to the country and learning English. They are trying their personal best and working really hard. I love that they are not giving up on themselves and they believe in themselves. Many struggle with reading, even in their native language. We are working heavily on phonics and I would love for them to have more tools to help. Having a phone to hear yourself read can work wonders. Having a special kit tailored to their needs and grade would help encourage and close the achievement gap.
My foundational skills game bundle will help my students build foundational skills In phonics.
I would love flexible floor seating to set up a reading nook in my room so that my students can sit and enjoy a book. I would love to encourage and foster a love of reading.
