My students need an an Apple TV, an Apple Remote, and a Kanex ATVPRO AirPlay Mirroring for VGA Projector to project what's on our iPads onto our Promethean Board.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Burns's classroom raised $221
This project is fully funded
My Students
My students are eager, energetic learners who love using technology to learn and present what they have learned! They are growing in their confidence each and every day!
"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I may remember. Involve me and I will learn."-Benjamin Franklin
We have twenty boys and girls in our fourth grade classroom with a range of ability levels.
Our elementary school is located in a small town in South Carolina. My students come from a variety of backgrounds, and each child has a different story. However, they all have a common interest-they love using technology! I have seen them so much more engaged and confident in their learning when we use technology such as our iPads. Wouldn't it be "i-MAZING" for students to show their work on a Promethean board to the whole class? As a teacher, it would be the "apple of my eye" to see my students engaged as I could model apps from the iPad onto the board as well!
My Project
We live in a tech-savvy world, and an Apple TV will help engage my students to use technology to prepare them to step out of the classroom. My fourth graders will use the Apple TV to connect iPads to our Promethean board to immediately and creatively present what they have learned to the whole class. For example, students can become "teachers" to each other using apps that we have used such as the "Pic Collage" and "Show Me" app. This will instill a confidence in them to help them the rest of their lives! An Apple TV will also make my teaching more engaging and effective. We love using iPads in our classroom, and any app that is on my iPad, such as the geoboard app, WWF Together Endangered Animals app, or NASA app, will be able to transfer directly to the Promethean Board and will aid my instruction. It will allow me to model any app while the students can follow along on their own iPads.
"Class of 2022, how will you change the world?" is a question I have asked my students.
I believe in each of my students, and I want to instill in them a deep sense of confidence and perseverance to go out and change the world around them. Allowing my students to use the technology of the Apple TV, remote, and projector to present all of their hard work will help give them the confidence and communication skills they need to achieve their best success!
