Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are special because they make me want to be a better teacher. They come to school every day smiling and excited to learn something new. My students truly love coming to school and give 100%. They love books and are appreciative over the smallest things like a new pencil or eraser. I teach at a Title I school school in Atlanta where our school's population is 95% Hispanic. Our entire school is on free or reduced price lunch.
My little rock stars deserve the best, and I want to make sure I can give them a memorable year.
Most of our students come from homes where the parents speak no English, and many students come to our school speaking no or very little English. Despite the road blocks of language barriers and minimal resources, we strive to make sure our students become successful students and future leaders. My wish is to encourage, excite, engage, and empower my students to be the best at whatever their heart desires!
My Project
A classroom iPad will provide my little superstars with interactive learning that will be utilized for reading fluency, phonics, and math through educational apps.
My students will benefit from an iPad through using educational games and apps that will help them read, listen to reading, and even use to enhance math fluency.
More importantly, the iPad will help me with students who need reinforcement with skills taught. My students do not have access to books or computers at home.
A classroom iPad will bring a new innovative way to engage, excite, and empower my students world of learning. This will change our students' lives for the better. They will love school and feel success at an early age after having fun while learning!
