This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are amazing! Their enthusiasm for learning never ceases to amaze me. They work hard every day, staying engaged with hands-on activities and games that help them practice their skills and increase their knowledge. I love giving them opportunities. We are a low socioeconomic area and highly diverse school in Central California. Nearly all of my students' learning happens at school. Most of my students have not traveled beyond our city walls. We are a small school with a big heart!
My Project
My students need to be able to use an Apple iPad in the classroom to access specific learning apps that they are not able to use on our current Windows platform. We are fortunate to have 1:1 netbooks (1 for each student) that allow students to do so much, however, there are applications that we would like to use in blended learning centers that can only be accessed using an iPad. Having an iPad will enable students to use electronic video whiteboards to teach each other. They will also be able to access video editing software, storytelling, math, science, and research applications.
