This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Every year I love to immerse my students in the amazing story of Jack and Annie and their Magic Tree House adventures! The students love learning about history through Jack and Annie's adventures. The Magic tree house series has helped me teach different history lessons while providing students with the opportunity to unlock their imaginations. We even were able to visit the MET museum prior to reading book three, Mummies in the morning last year. This field trip allowed for me to help build on background knowledge and when we began reading the novel, students were able to make connections.
This year, my class needs some additional supports in order to read the Magic Tree House series.
I would like to introduce my current group of students to the first four books of the Magic Tree House through graphic novels. My students are very visual learners and being able to read the books using the graphic novels will help students to better understand the adventures.
