My Students
Do you remember how you felt when the teacher said it time for science? I remember just reading and completing worksheets. I want my students to discover science in a different way...through fun.
My students are five and six years old that are just beginning their educational career.
They are at the age of absorbing new experiences and ready to learn. The school they attend is located in a rural area in South Carolina. It is a title one school. Most of the students that attend this school are from low income families.
My Project
Science is a subject that is taught but not emphasized in primary grades. I want to expose my students to as much science experiences as I can. With the items I am asking for, the students will have an active science center that will be used daily. Each child will visit this station every week and learn about various science standards and have hands on experiences to assist in teaching vocabulary and facts about science. The Geo Safari Talking Microscope will give my students an opportunity to be a scientist. With this tool, they will be learning and playing at the same time. They will also have science folder games that relates to our state standards. There are three instant learning centers that would benefit my students in weather and seasons, life cycle and five senses. All of these material will have a great impact on my students. They will have a lasting memory of what they did in kindergarten to take with them as they continue their science journey.
Kindergarten is the start of a lifelong educational road.
As a kindergarten teacher, I must make sure they learn all they need to succeed. Your donations will help them to get exposure to science in a different way. They will learn through play experiences. They will be reinforcing what I have taught using games and manipulative to learn. They will hopefully grow to love science.
