Help me give my students an accessible printer to create illustrations that help introduce complex concepts and disinfecting wipes to make sharing materials safe.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My first grade students from Wilmington, California are part of a Magnet program designed to captivate students based on their interests while focusing on academic excellence, cooperative learning, investigative coursework, and collaboration with peers. They are enthusiastic learners, driven by science, reading, and mathematics. As their teacher, I aspire to help them expand their enthusiasm and be successful in all academic areas with hands-on, interactive projects and activities. In order to fulfill that, my students will need supplies and resources to be successful, accomplish their goals, and continue being the great students that they are.
My Project
A printer will give all my students the chance to make complex concepts understandable by adding illustrations to the lessons. Also, half of my students are English language learners. They need visual aids to help them understand academic English language fluidly and provide a different explanation to the spoken language. Disinfecting wipes are also essential to our classroom because we have materials we would like to share while continuing to provide a safe and clean environment. It is also important to help prevent students from spreading germs because it helps students stay in the class by staying healthy.
