AMS Makerspace

My students need my students need a 3D printer in order to experience the learning opportunites that a makerspace provides.

My Students

My students are awesome and eager to learn! We are a title 1 school in the Dallas Independent School District and don't have many of the resources that other districts have. They are science students who are socioeconomically challenged. For many of my students just having the basic supplies to be a successful student is a challenge. Having a makerspace will give the opportunity to be creative, innovative, and learn new ways to problem solve. My students have a passion to be successful; however, they just need the proper tools to do so.

My Project

A makerspace at my title 1 school would be a total game changer for my students. It will allow them access to an otherwise unattainable asset. A 3D printer will enhance my students opportunity to explore the maker based education movement. The makerspace is being created with the students in mind. Every item requested was given careful consideration to it's implementation and qualitative value in the makerspace. Having this tool will allow my students to explore their creativity, problem solving skills and their abilities to think outside the box they are used to operating in. The 3D printer will provide my students a hands on learning experience that I alone am not able to give them. The makerspace will inspire and support my students as they grow academically.
