Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Your support would have an immediate and lasting impact, helping to create an equitable classroom environment where every student feels prepared and empowered to learn. Together, we can bridge the gap and provide these young learners with the foundation they deserve. The headphones will be used for my Read 180 students. Read 180 is a reading intervention class, these students use headphones daily to participate in a student application individualized program that builds literacy. Snacks will be used to incentivize students going above and beyond to participate in tutoring peers. My students are also often asking for snacks. I try to keep my pantry filled at all times. Markers will be used to give access to students to engage in their creativity for collaboration. More poster work and group work will be possible with these resources.

Our goal is to help students by setting them up for success with these supplies.

Build Confidence and Equity: Ensure every student starts on a level playing field by addressing disparities in access to resources, helping them feel included and supported.

Encourage Lifelong Learning: Create an inspiring and engaging classroom environment that motivates students to take ownership of their education and strive for excellence.

My students are special because they come from diverse backgrounds and a high risk area. They work through adversity and hardships. They continue to be highly motivated even though their home lives may not be the smoothest.
