Amplifying Voices: A Multidisciplinary Library for College and Career Readiness

Help me give my students a collection of multi-disciplinary books and a sound system to support audiobooks, read-alouds, and storytelling sessions.

My Project

My students are Native American juniors and seniors who bring strength, insight, and resilience to the classroom. Many come from underserved communities and are determined to break barriers through education. They are thoughtful, creative, and eager to succeed—not only in high school but in college, careers, and life. I want to help them rise to the challenge of rigorous academic standards, including the ACT and AP coursework, while affirming their identities and experiences.

To support their growth, I am building a multimodal mini-classroom library that pairs diverse print and audio texts with a sound system for engaging, culturally responsive learning.

This project will allow students to:

Access books, audiobooks, and podcasts that support AP Language and ACT-level literacy.

Hear authentic voices and disciplines from different backgrounds and disciplines, including Native American authors, scientists, leaders, and creatives.

Build listening comprehension, vocabulary, and critical thinking through varied content—from literature and history to science and social justice.

Present their reflections, stories, and projects using the sound system to boost their confidence and communication skills.

The sound system will serve as a tool for listening, discussion, and student presentation, encouraging students to speak up, listen critically, and engage across disciplines.
