Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a 7th grade social studies teacher, I believe history comes alive when students can engage with it creatively and make meaningful connections to their world. My classroom thrives on project-based learning, where students explore historical themes and demonstrate their understanding through hands-on, innovative projects like stop motion, animation, and video storytelling.

Now, I'm ready to take this to the next level.

With your help, I want to create a maker space podcasting and video production studio in our classroom. This space will empower students to become historians, journalists, filmmakers, and storytellers. They'll research historical topics, script compelling narratives, and produce high-quality podcasts and videos that showcase their learning and perspectives.

This project will not only deepen their understanding of history—it will also equip them with real-world communication, collaboration, and media literacy skills. In a world where content creation is a vital skill, this space will help my students develop their voices and share their stories with pride.

Your support will help fund microphones, audio interfaces, green screens, lighting, editing software, and other essential tools to make this vision a reality. Together, we can give students the tools to create, connect, and shine.
