Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My class is a group of 3rd-grade students who are eager to learn and ready for new and engaging materials that spark inquiry and creativity. We have a diverse group of students with varying learning styles and abilities. Due to the varying nature of strengths and weaknesses in our classroom, we hope to provide an environment designed to meet the needs and rise to the challenge for the students. However, we are looking for materials that will support the different abilities represented while bringing challenge and rigor to all.
Help us get the most out of every learning opportunity we are given by having daily access to materials that provide individualized instruction and rigorous learning experiences.
My Project
During the school year we do many research based projects and writing pieces. We use various sources such as books and internet sites. Help us increase our reading selection of biographies, include minorities, and champion those who overcome obstacles and disabilities as we bring new books to our classroom library.
Our goal is to have a library that promotes kindness, inclusivity, and diversity and these books our a fantastic start to meeting that goal!
In our request we have included books about Spanish heritage, famous African Americans, female champions, and heroic individuals with disabilities. We will use these books to broaden our exposure and understanding of famous people who make up minorities in our ever changing world.
