Amplify Our Voices: a Speaking and Listening Adventure
Help me give my students the opportunity to blend creativity, by showing off their work on the mobile desk and build essential language skills, by using the microphones to create a fun and meaningful experience.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
This project seamlessly blends creativity, technology, and essential language skills, making it a fun and meaningful experience for the students in my classroom.
The students will develop speaking and listening skills in an engaging and interactive way and foster creativity through collaborative presentations.
This project will encourage students to express themselves confidently by presenting their work. Students place their work on the computer stand, which projects it for the class to see. Using the karaoke microphone, they explain their work, such as describing a drawing, reading a short story, or narrating a project. After a presentation, classmates take turns using the microphone to share one thing they liked or a question they have. This promotes active listening and thoughtful interaction. Karaoke storytelling will allow students to use the microphones to retell a familiar story, recite a poem, or sing a simple song together. Students will build their confidence in becoming comfortable speaking in front of others. Building their listening skill and giving active feedback fosters attentive listening. Most importantly this teamwork and creativity encourages group collaboration and peer appreciation.
This project combines creativity, technology, and essential language skills, creating a fun and impactful experience for first graders.
