Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
As an independent study teacher at a PBIS school, I am educating a great group of enthusiastic fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students. They are excited about learning online and love to share their thoughts and ideas.
I am requesting a supply of Amazon gift cards that my students suggested in order to continue our positive behavior supports.
I hold gift card giveaways once a week to give students something to work for and look forward to. I am also requesting postage stamps in order to mail the gift cards to my students. Students earn gift cards every week for completing assignments and required work hours. Since starting this idea, I have seen a dramatic improvement in attendance and participation!
This project will have a significant impact on my students. It will encourage them to come to Google Meet classes every day on time and stay for the entire period. Additionally, by being present they will hear my math and language arts lessons and do better on assignments and tests.
We are a PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports) school, where students are encouraged to make good choices with positive rewards. I know they will love receiving these gift cards in the mail. Your help will have a tremendous impact on our class community. Having these various gift card giveaways will encourage my students to attend online classes daily and keep up with their daily assignments.
