This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Students at FA come from a variety of backgrounds. Many students come to school each day not only to learn, but to feel a sense of belonging. P.S.207 is a home for most of our students. Students in my classes also have varying abilities. Many of my students have learning disabilities that would benefit from numerous technology applications.
I know that creating a safe and welcoming classroom environment is more important than any lesson I will teach.
Students need to be able to forget about their problems at home and enjoy the time they spend at school. They also need to be confident in their abilities. I make sure that all of my students know that I am one of their biggest supporters and I believe in them.
Having technology in the classroom will open up opportunities that many of my students will only have at school.
My Project
With this grant my students will be using the Amazon Fire's frequently throughout the day. One way the Fire will be used is during small group instruction, another way is during literacy centers and lastly the Fire's will be used for daily math, science and writing.
With these Amazon Fire's, I know my students can continue to excel and explore as learners in our community.
Students need to be engaged and motivated and in the world we live in today, technology helps kids with learning disabilities feel more successful. When a child with a disability feels successful, it's a success!
