Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
I have an integrated full day preschool classroom at Goddard with a total of 15 students. Nearly half of my students have special needs and are on Individualized Education Plans. A majority of my students are also second language learners.
My students are from very diverse backgrounds and benefit from hands-on learning experiences to help them understand their world and who they are in it.
My goal on a daily basis is to provide every child with the opportunity to learn and grow at his or her learning level. My focus is on making learning concepts come to life through explicit teaching of skills and concepts. My students have unique needs and benefit from multiple learning opportunities in order to truly understand the preschool curriculum.
As a preschool teacher, it is so exciting to see the growth in my little learners from the start of the school year to the end. They always seem to love to come to school every day and learn!
My Project
This project is for the classroom as a whole with materials needed in various areas. It includes art materials, ink so visuals or center activities can be printed and created, social/emotional materials, seating for our reading center, and materials based on several of our themes throughout the year. These themes include all about me, dinosaurs, fairy tales, and life cycles.
Preschoolers benefit from play and exploration. This project will only help enrich their experiences and prepare them for the future!
