This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
The students in my class with autism are in need of sensory support. Children with autism learn differently than most and need in an environment that is supportive and addresses their sensory and social-emotional needs. Through sensory integration and an enriched environment, my students will be able to more easily communicate their basic needs and engage in learning throughout the school day.
These items will give my students tools to help manage and regulate their sensory experiences.
Sensory supports can help students with autism regulate their sensory input and can provide tools and techniques to help students manage these sensory challenges, allowing them to stay focused and engaged in learning.
These materials include a swivel chair, a trampoline, bean bags, and the innovative Gaiam Kids Peanut Bounce Desk Chair, all of which will provide diverse seating options to cater to varying sensory needs. Additionally, I am also including a request for a selection of sensory toys designed to enhance my students' cognitive and emotional development. These materials will help create a stimulating and inclusive learning environment, allowing each child to engage and interact at their own pace.
I believe that with your support, I can create a classroom environment that fosters the growth and development of my special education students, ensuring they receive the tailored support they need to succeed academically and socially.
