"The whole world opened to me when I learned to read." ~Mary Mcleod Bethune. Our classroom is a place where students are asked to think critically, explore, discuss, and create. Our class uses books to guide many of our lessons, whether we are learning about light and sound or being a good friend.
The first graders in our class are hard-working and responsible learners with contagious energy!
They love learning (and laughing)! They are incredibly appreciative of the smallest gestures.
Our class is filled with growing readers! They are putting in the hard work and determination needed to become better readers. The students in our class love read alouds. They enjoy listening to stories and learning new reading skills. It is my hope that students are instilled with a life long love of reading. They deserve the best!
My Project
The books that our classroom is asking for would provide a weekly read aloud text that is engaging, complex, and beautiful! These books would be used to guide our comprehension, vocabulary, grammar and phonics instruction.
