Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I teach a diverse group of moderate to severe learning disabled students, some with fragile medical needs. Some of the students have autism or Down syndrome, one with cerebral palsy, one with mitochondrial disease (making her very fragile). The students all have amazing attitudes and are very hard working. They love coming to school and learning. Each students has a fun, playful sense of humor and they make my "work" day, a "play" day, every single day. These students fill my life with joy and I want to provide the best and most meaningful education I can for them in return.

My Project

My students enjoy exploring every possible genre of art. We enjoy displaying all we make around the room, on walls, windows and even hanging from the ceiling! My students mainstream with general education students for art or ceramics every day. I am continually looking for new ways for my students to participate to the best of their ability levels.

The are supplies we would like to use are paints that show our diverse population, various types of paper to use to sketch and paint and collage, organizational systems that the students can easily access, fabric paint to decorate class t-shirts, and new paint brushes to replace ones that need replacing.

The new art supplies will go a long way towards exploring their artistic abilities. We are excited to try new things offered through donor's choose. Thanks so much for your continued support and generosity! We could not have such amazing art exploration without you!
