Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are resilient superstars! It is not easy living in a low-income community, especially during a pandemic like COVID-19. Yet, my students have been trying their best to prioritize their education. They show up to their online small groups every single week to learn about Math, Reading, and Writing. A lot of the work my students have to complete are online, which means a lot of the resources are online too.
My goal is to provide these amazing rockstars with their own notebooks, books, and bookmarks in order to inspire them to do their best work.
Sometimes, when you stare at a computer for too long, your brain and body can feel tired and you may feel unmotivated. It has been about six weeks now that my students have had to endure this situation. Therefore, with your support, we can provide these hardworking students with the inspiration and motivation they need right now to keep learning!
My Project
With your help, all students can follow along at home while we read "The One and Only Ivan" as a whole class. They can study, reread, and enjoy "The One and Only Ivan," a book that is all about the transformative power of an unexpected friendship. Plus, they can keep track of what is happening in the book and write their thoughts in their brand new notebooks!
