This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Wouldn't it be awesome if you could create a computer that makes sense of the world around it?

My students are 7th and 8th graders taking a design and engineering elective in a high performing K-8 charter school in northern California.

They love working with their hands to build amazing projects and explore the world around them through technology.

My Project

I am requesting 16 Arduino Uno Starter kits for my students. These kits will enable my students have one kit for every pair of students. The Arduino is an open source electronics prototyping platform that is a base for a whole world of ideas to come to fruition. The students will use the instruction guide to learn how the boards work and then create their own creative projects with the Arduino board as a base. They will show off their projects at our school-wide Maker Faire in May.

My students need this equipment so that they can apply all of the learning the have done this year in Engineering class.

With the Arduino starter kits, they will have all the tools they need to let their imaginations run wild and create some incredible technology and devices.
